Today’s topic is: Treat your job search as a full-time commitment.
If you’re going through a career transition, which is how I prefer to refer to unemployment, you should dedicate all the time you would normally spend on work to your job search. Don’t just wait around hoping that a job will miraculously fall into your lap. Instead, actively network within your defined audience. Identify that specific audience and connect with people in it. Remember, most job opportunities, especially the hidden ones, are never advertised. So, you must get out there, network, and let networking lead you to new opportunities and interviews.
