How to Use Social Media to Get a Job in 2020

Social media is a great medium for you to market yourself and it is virtually for free.  Be polite, be professional, and be purposeful. Don’t be controversial. That’s going to set you off into another world. Be consistent in your approach. There is no point posting or sharing or building content once in a while. If you’re going to make it up in your mind that you want to do it every other day or every second or third day, you need to do that. So don’t go over the top. There is a sort of a limit; don’t post every hour or every couple of hours, but make sure you are on at least once a day.

Create Content

If you are in career transition, you probably need to create one content post. So that means you can share something from your industry, something from your industry magazine, and make a comment on it to entice dialogue. Or you can comment on somebody else’s post, or you can share somebody else’s posts and make a comment on that.

Your Brand

Show your brand. This is a venue for you to market your brand. Your personal brand is out there marketed. Be proud. If there’s something you want to talk about, or you have a new product, or you have a new service, tell that story because other people other influencers will want to hear that story. And there again, you are marketing yourself as an authority, and it’s a platform for you to market yourself as an authority.  Hopefully, you’ve got some really good, valuable information on the value that social media will and can bring you to your career management.
